2024 coming-of-age drama film written, produced directed by Paolo Sorrentino. The film stars Celeste Dalla Porta (in her debut) & Gary Oldman; the name derives from the Greek siren who committed suicide after failing to enchant Odysseus & her body was bought by the tide to the "Castle of the egg" - center of Naples - & thus giving birth to the city which would later be named Neapolis (by Greeks meaning new city)--> Naples. In the film Parthenope is the embodiment of the city of Naples.
