Our first meetup in 2018 starts w/ a bang! We proudly announce IBM as our host for our next #ReactStuttgart get-together. Let's talk about React and maybe catch a glimpse at IBM Watson. If you want to speak at our event please get in touch. We are striving to make this a community event and therefore highly appreciate your initiative to share your wisdom w/ us.

********** AGENDA **********
#1 Dirk Heitmann (Chief Digital Officer, IBM Deutschland) - Welcome speech

#2 Daniyar Jakupov - React-Native development with Expo

Expo is a set of tools, libraries and services which lets you build native apps using only Javascript. Expo apps are React Native apps with the Expo SDK baked in. The SDK is a native-and-JS library which provides access to the device's system functionality (things like the camera, local storage, etc). That means you don't need to opt for Xcode or Android Studio - or native code in general to be more specific - in order to access these features. In this talk, the speaker will talk about Expo and its place in the react-native ecosystem. Moreover, he will spoil us w/ some live coding to give us an impression on how easy it is to get started.

#3 Josefine Hartung - GraphQL: REST in Peace?

REST has been the standard in designing and developing APIs for many years, while GraphQL is still the new kid on the block. Nevertheless, more and more tech companies trust in GraphQL as a better approach on building their APIs. Why are they choosing to do so? With the reasons of Facebook, GitHub and Shopify in mind, we will get to dive into code and experience some live GraphQL magic.
