In a city with a literal 'Philosophers' Way', it would seem rude not to do at least one philosophical event, and so this Friday we will meet for some existential musing on the nature of nurture, whilst nurturing our natures. As I'm sure you're all aware, 'philosophy' finds its etymological roots in the two ancient Greek scholars, Phil and Sophy, who were famously sat around wondering why the gods were such capricious bastards, and what they could to do on a dull Friday evening in Athens. Consequently, they created the first copy of Settlers of Catan, invited a few friends over, and thus Friday night gaming was born.

Please bring cash. Not cards.

How does it work: Carrying on in the school of Phil and Sophy, we start at 19:00 in the backroom of the Firebowl bowling alley, where we will be sat in barrels, arguing with passers-by. We bring along a wide selection of games from casual party games, all the way up to heavy strategy shenanigans, and will use rhetoric and logic to guide you in your gaming choices. You're also more than welcome to bring some of your own games, if you want. We're there to help explain rules and set people up with new games between 19:00 - 19:30. After that we will still be about, but loudly debating whether or not we or the club actually exist. Our regulars, however, are a lovely bunch and very grounded & friendly.
