Intro to Improv: Presence & Spontaneity (Thursdays)

Prerequisites: none!ImprovWorks Berlin is excited to announce our next round of improv comedy courses! We truly believe that everyone can become confident and funny on stage.
Over 8 weekly classes, we explore the principles of comedic improvisation primarily through short-form games. Together, we create a conscious, supportive space where we focus on becoming good listeners, making spontaneous choices, and working together as a team. We’ll empower each other with the “Freedom to Fail,” thereby unleashing our inner creativity. The concepts of presence, agreement, trust, commitment and support are fostered through large and small group exercises.
We’ll also have a ton of fun and make new friends! In the end-of-class show, you’ll get to show off all you’ve learned to an invited audience of family and friends.

WHAT: What is a comedy mic? For newer comedians and experienced alike to work out new jokes, test new ideas in a structured way.
WILL THE SHOW BE ANY GOOD? YES. Tera has over 29 years of stage experience and 7 years of stand up. She makes it fun! Also, the attitude you bring is everything - Come to support the next generation of comedians!
We commit to booking 80% performers who are women or queer folks. Although that is the priority, we have 1-2 token spots for majority dudes (we are inclusive) and we welcome everyone to attend, as long as you’re cool! Come support! Pre-Paid Tickets Online for 10 Euros to watch the show! Or just show up and pay 12 at the Door.
WHERE DO I SIGN UP? You sign up in the Facebook event. Write "Spot" AND LIST YOUR DATES YOU ARE FREE. If selected, you will be added to the FB group. If not - Sign up again! This is a mic appropriate for brand new comedians, mid level to pros!

Tickets LinkYaaas Queen is a monthly celebration of fierce and fabulously funny queens, kings and royal criminal queers! The show is in English and on second Thursday of every month.
This is not just a stand-up comedy open mic – it is a fun and safe space for women & LGBTQIA+ comics who want to either try stand-up for the first time, work on their funny bits or experiment with other comedy formats. There’s always a different line-up of experienced and less experienced jesters and we try to make it as varied as possible!
It is also a cosy opportunity for you, our lovely audience members, to meet like-minded, open-hearted people who enjoy laughing, can take a joke and just want to have a marvellous evening.
You are welcome to come and support us with your ecstatic applause, roaring laughter and loving support no matter who you are or what you have or don’t have in your pants, bags and cupboards!
