Märkische Schweiz is one of the best places to visit around Berlin, at any season. So, as sprint is now in full bloom, let's go to hike through the Stobbertal to the town Buckow in the Märkische Schweiz!

Buckow is a town in the Märkisch-Oderland district in Brandenburg. The water cure resort is located in the centre of the eponymous hill range, since 1990 part of the Märkische Schweiz Nature Park protected area.

At Sunday, there will be Buckower Garten– und Gesundheitstag going on in Buckow, one of the typical German festivities with diverse stalls where food, art or other nice things are being sold.

We'll meet on Sunday at 10:13 at the railway station Müncheberg. You can reach this by taking the RB 26 train, which departs Berlin Lichtenberg at 9:38.

From Müncheberg, we'll walk through the village Dahmsdorf to the large and beautiful Klobichsee. From there, we will head to the "Drei Eichen Waldcafe", a nice little inn hidden in the middle of the forest, where we will likely have a break with coffe and cake. From there, we walk to the town Buckow, which we will reach after about 15 km.

In Buckow, we will take another hour to visit the market, have more snacks, etc.

If you'd have enough of the hike then, there would be the option to return by bus or historic train from Buckow to Müncheberg station from where you can take the RB26 back to Berlin.

Then main plan, however, is to walk back to Müncheberg station.

Trains back to Berlin leave Müncheberg station every hour at minute 49 and take about half an hour.

Important things to note:

  • This is an average hike, but the Märkische Schweiz is notorious for sometimes quite wet, muddy ground. Thus, you should wear suitable shoes.
  • The area has many lakes. Thus, there might be mosquitos around.
  • You are all responsible for yourself. None of us is mountain guide or something like that.
  • There won't be too many Späties in the mountains, so have enough water and food with you.
