🎄 Cloud Native Karlsruhe December 🎁
Details
Join our colorful trio of gophers by the fire this holiday season for a cozy meetup dedicated to the art of Platform Engineering. We’ll be unwrapping the gift of knowledge, sipping on hot chocolate. Come celebrate the end of the year with us and add some festive cheer to your deployment pipelines! It's time for a festive Cloud Native winter 🎄🎁🎅
🔥 TALK #1: How to run untrusted code at scale without getting pwned
Jonas Scholz, co-founder of Sliplane, reveals the security architecture behind modern AI chats such as ChatGPT and Perplexity! How do these systems manage to execute code from prompts at lightning speed and securely? Jonas brings his experience in building infrastructure tools that combine MicroVMs, container orchestration, and developer experience—and explains why containers alone are not enough when it comes to untrusted code.
🪆 TALK #2: vCluster - Running Kubernetes in Kubernetes
How do you provide an entire kubernetes cluster for every team, without spending 10x of the engineering departments budget?
This talk will give you an introduction to vCluster, a certified kubernetes distro, making it possible to run multiple, isolated virtual clusters for multiple tenants, on top of a single host cluster. We show you how it works internally, different tenancy models, how you can utilize host cluster resources like StorageClasses, RuntimeClasses (e.g. FireCracker), and service meshs (and their pitfalls), as well as limitations of the technology.
Alex Klein is a Senior Software Engineer at Codesphere, working on providing different deployment modes on the platform, as well as observability related topics.
