Engaging the audience – why data storytelling matters
Data has rapidly become an indispensable strategic asset at most organizations. Although the use of data is increasing dramatically, data storytelling remains poorly understood. As a result, many insights fail the last mile. They do not make the necessary step from exploring to explaining. This is where data storytelling comes in. Data storytelling is much more than visualizing data. It’s about explaining insights, putting them into a narrative, into a context that is well known to the audience and therefore resonates with them.

Automatic content generation in marketing communication
Recent advances in language modeling and text processing have sparked hundreds of interesting applications aiming to increase productivity, accuracy, and customer experience across various industries. Language models could potentially revolutionize the way content is generated in marketing, yet brands and agencies have been slow to integrate them into their workflows.
To explore the promises and pitfalls of using automatic content generation in marketing communication, we developed Loopinus, a content generator based on OpenAI’s GPT-3.
About the speaker:
Matthias Haber is a partner and senior director for data & insight at Looping Group. He is a data scientist with 10+ years of experience in machine learning and predictive modeling. He has a particular interest in natural language processing and how it can be used to push the boundaries in content marketing. Matthias has led data-related projects for some of the world’s biggest brands in the automotive, telecommunication, FMCG, Fashion, and insurance industry. Furthermore, he is an adjunct faculty member for data science at the Hertie School of Governance in Berlin.
