Have you ever looked at a company network and wondered how anyone could make sense of all those connections? Or tried to turn complex company data into a story people actually want to explore?

At our next DataViz Meetup, we’ll take a closer look at how data visualisation can make company information more understandable — from networks and balance sheets to the (visual) stories hidden in millions of records.

First, Christina Brause, Investigator in Residence at North Data, will give us an honest look behind the scenes of the company’s data intelligence and visualisation work. Many people know North Data for its visualisations of corporate networks. But how do you automatically turn millions of records into visuals that remain clear and readable?

Then Marcel Pauly, data journalist at SPIEGEL, will explain how they analyzed Bundestag member of parliaments' disclosures of outside activities, using AI to parse the free-text entries and North Data’s API to identify the industries of the companies named.

We’re looking forward to an evening of data, visualisation and new perspectives — and to seeing you there! We're happy that North Data will sponsor drinks and snacks.
