Talk 1: Talk the Talk and Walk the Walk with a Living Language Chris Simon — Software Engineer, Australia joining us live
Language isn't just syntax — it's the foundation of how we think and communicate about our systems. In this talk, Chris explores what it really means to work with a living ubiquitous language: one that evolves alongside your domain, stays consistent across code, documentation, and conversations, and actually reflects how the business works. A practical and thought-provoking look at keeping language alive in your codebase and your team.Chris is a technology coach and advisor helping technology teams drive business success. He has a particular focus on helping startups realise their vision and new CTOs flourish in their roles. He also supports executives & boards with strategic technology advice, and engineering teams with training, mentoring, and consulting in architecture, quality, domain-driven design, and test-driven development.
He is a regular meetup & conference speaker (https://chrissimon.au/speaking/) and to support teams using Domain-Driven Design, he recently launched https://contextive.tech & co-founded the DDD Australia meetup.
He is the technical co-founder of https://www.inloop.com.au, home of Australian Fintech success stories https://www.flexischools.com.au and https://www.lanternpay.com (recently acquired by NAB).***
Talk 2: Streaming & Eventing for Top Management and why is DDD essential for that Jens Müller — Enterprise Architect, Allianz Kunde und Markt GmbH, Munich
Developers love event-driven architecture (EDA) and streaming with the latest technologies—and they’re often the easiest to evangelize. The real challenge lies in convincing top management and C-level executives of the value of reinvesting in yet another emerging technology and understanding the paradigm shift it brings. In this talk, we’ll share our strategy for promoting EDA across the organization, with a focus on how we successfully communicate its value to top decision-makers.
✅ Different stakeholders require tailored messaging—one size does not fit all.
✅ Communication is critical: leverage all available formats and speak about your topic frequently.
✅ Business cases from other companies are helpful, but internal success stories are even more powerful.
✅ Go beyond technology—tie EDA directly to business processes and outcomes.Jens Müller is a seasoned Enterprise Architect with a strong track record in shaping IT landscapes for global organizations. Currently serving at Allianz Kunde und Markt GmbH, he specializes in Integration Architecture, Eventing, IAM, and Partner integration.
With over a decade of experience, he has held key roles at Allianz in Germany, BMW Group, Red Bull, EY, and Accenture, demonstrating expertise in CRM systems, BI, reporting, and cutting-edge technologies such as Salesforce, SAP, AWS, and Cloud Solutions. His leadership spans strategic development, global financial planning, and end-to-end process oversight.
He holds a Bachelor's degree in Business Informatics from Hochschule Furtwangen with a short detour at TU Munich.
