VII: Orchestrating Containers with Kubernetes

In our next meetup, Christoph Stoettner will talk about the basics of Kubernetes, how to use it to orchestrate containers:

After working with Docker several years, a good way for improvement is
Kubernetes. It helps building immutable infrastructure, high availability
for applications and zero downtime upgrades.

But enough with buzzwords, or you will have bingo right after the third
sentence. :)

Kubernetes is first of all an orchestration tool for containers. We need to
get into some new wording, little bit different definitions and addons to
Docker or containers.

Christoph will show you some basic tasks with Kubernetes, like starting containers, scale them and provide storage for persistent data. Then we talk about installing our own Kubernetes environment to test, develop and play with.
We can use kubeadm, Rancher, minikube and some more tools, which can be stripped down to fit into our working machines. So in the end of the talk you should have the basics to run your own Kubernetes Cluster on a VM or your local desktop / notebook.
