In our "Tea or Coffee?" Conversation lessons, we talk about things that you want to talk about, for example, your family, holidays, hobbies, work, etc. During the lesson, I offer corrections and after the lesson, I will send you some notes from our lesson with a self-study suggestion.

I am happy to offer feedback on any self-study work you send me too!

This lesson is aimed at learners of English whose level is Elementary (A2) to Intermediate (B1). It takes place every Monday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. C.E.T. (Zurich time).

The first lesson is FREE; but after that, if you want to continue, then I ask you to buy a 5-lesson ABO, which is valid for two months, so you can come to any five "Tea or Coffee?" lessons within those two months.

Normally, this ABO is 95 Swiss francs, but as a member of my Meet Up group, you will pay just 45 Swiss francs (about 45 euro), i.e. 9 CHF/euro per lesson.

Are you learning English and want to improve your presentation skills?

Anyone with a B1 level (Intermediate), B2 (Upper Intermediate), C1 (Advanced) or even C2 (Proficient) level can benefit from this method.

The "Present Anything in Five Minutes" workshop is from 19:00-20:00 on Wednesdays. (Your FIRST session is a FREE trial. If you want to come again, then I will email an invoice to you for a 5-session ABO for 45 Swiss Francs (about 45 euros). The ABO is valid for two months and can be used for any of my English conversation lessons.)

Be ready to speak for FIVE minutes on any topic you wish. As well, prepare for questions you might be asked after your talk. You will also be expected to act as a "listener", so be ready to formulate a question or two.

The structure of the workshop sessions is as follows:

Getting started (about 10 minutes)
You will introduce yourself and indicate what aspect of presenting you want to improve. Tips and techniques will be shared.
Depending on the number of participants, you will work in pairs or groups of three. Each pair or group will have a speaker and one or two listeners.

The first round (about 15 minutes)
As a Speaker, you will have…
> FIVE minutes to PRESENT
> FIVE minutes to ANSWER any questions
> FIVE minutes to get some FEEDBACK on your talk from your Listener(s)

As a Listener, you will …
> listen carefully to the speaker
> ask questions when appropriate
> give the speaker some FEEDBACK on their talk
(You will also act as time-keeper.)

Lessons learned (about 10 minutes)
After the first round, we will meet altogether and people can share key ‘takeaways’.

The second round (about 15 minutes)
I will assign you to another group or partner, and another speaker will have a chance to present. We'll follow the same procedure: one person presents for 5 minutes, does a Q&A session, and gets feedback.

Lessons learned (about 10 minutes)
We will come together again to share key ‘takeaways’ and define what skills or aspects of presenting you want to work on next time.

NOTE: Depending on how many people want to be speakers, I may change the timing so that we can have three rounds.
