Visit Jüterbog and Its Historic Monastery

Schedule:

08:40 AM: Depart Berlin Hauptbahnhof on the regional train (RE3). -If you are joining from a different station, our train arrives at 9:34.

09:35 AM: Arrive at Jüterbog station and take a short walk or bus ride into the historic old town.

10:15 AM: Explore the medieval center. Check out the Brick Gothic Rathaus at the market square and the towering Am Dammtor city gates. (Good spots for those photography enthusiasts)

Break:
1:00 PM: Grab lunch at one of the cafes or restaurants around the central market square.
-Alternatively-
Visit Kulturquartier Mönchenkloster 10 euros.
01:00 PM: Walk around Kulturquartier Mönchenkloster. This former Franciscan monastery features an incredible library built right into the old church nave (the museum opens at 1:00 PM on weekends).

02:30 PM: Take an outdoor hike to Kloster Zinna. (3-kilometer trail heading north through the Fläming landscape to reach this 12th-century Cistercian abbey).
03:30 PM: Explore the Kloster Zinna grounds. Wander the late Romanesque fieldstone church and check out the historic herbal brandy distillery (optional) (4 euro) before heading back to the station.
