Almond and other blossoms along the blossoms trail at Bergstraße

he almond and some other blossoms are already open. The weather forecast for Sunday is sunny and warm, a good opportunity to enjoy them and the other beautiful things at Bergstraße. We start in Alsbach and hike to the castle with the same name. Then we hike down to the blossoms trail, where the almond trees stand. From there we hike to Fürstenlager, a botanical park with mammoth trees and other exotic plants. We continue to Kirchberg, another nice viewpoint with a wide view over the valley and then Bensheim, which also has some historical wood frame houses.

We meet in Fra Hbf at 10:25 at the beginning of platform 10 for RB68 departing at 10:06. A Deutschlandticket is recommended, but you can also buy a single day ticket.

The distance is ca. 14 km, hilly. Have a look at the route and elevation in the photos section. Bring beverages & food for the way with you.
