Almauftrieb and several castle ruins in Taunus

We start in Schlangenbad with the Almauftrieb. That means bringing cattle, goats and sheep up on the hills. It is a unique event in Hessen. We will enjoy the mood there for a while and then hike to Geroldstein with several castle ruins. From there, we return on another route to enjoy the festival in Schlangenbad with Alphorn and other live music, food & drinks.

We meet in Fra Hbf at 8:45 at the beginning of platform 23 for RB10 departing at 8:54. A Deutschlandticket or RMV annual ticket is recommended, but you can also buy a single day ticket.

The distance is ca. 15 km, hilly. Have a look at the photos section. Bring beverages & food for the way with you.
