Meeting Point: Christmas Market Essen (in front of Cafe Extrablatt in city center)
We’ll meet at 7:30 PM at the Christmas market to enjoy festive drinks, food, and the holiday atmosphere together. After we’re done at the market, we’ll head to a pub for our Schrottwichtel gift exchange. The exact pub will be decided spontaneously once we leave the market.
What is Schrottwichtel?
Schrottwichtel is basically a crappy Secret Santa / junk gift exchange. You bring something you already have at home. No new items! It should be an unwanted, funny, useless, or ugly gift, like a bad present you once received or something you simply don’t want anymore.
✅ Important:
- The gift must be wrapped (newspaper is totally fine. The point is that the gift just isn't visible).
- Tip: DM has a wrapping station if you need one.
- If you really don’t have anything suitable at home, you may buy second-hand.
