Walking the Heidschnuckenweg:

>the first stage of the Heidschnuckenweg, just one of Germany’s beautiful hiking trails!
As the days grow longer, we will extend southwards to walk the ever distant sections of this trail, from the gates of Hamburg all the way to Celle.
- The Route: Stage 1 (Neugraben to Nenndorf).
- Meeting Point: Hamburg Hbf, Platform 3, bottom of escalators S3 in the direction of travel Neugraben.
[Look for me with an orange hiking bag.] - Meeting Time: 10:00 AM.
- Transport: We take the S3 (dir. Neugraben), arriving at 10:34 AM.
- Due to the cold weather breaks will be short.
This first stage leads us through the Fischbeker Heide, the second-largest heathland in Germany. Expect a beautiful mix of rolling hills, sandy paths, and deep pine forests.
> Note: you are responsible for your own transport such as a valid HVV ticket (AB zone) or a Deutschlandticket.
>The temperature and distance make this a moderate walk, on easy terrain, sand and gravel path, with a walking speed of around 4 km / h.
>Recommended: Sturdy walking shoes and something warm to drink!
Please bring clothing suitable to the conditions, your own snacks, water/ warm drink, and of course, some coins for the toilet! (if available).
