WELCOME!
Welcome to the LA Beach Volleyball (LABV) Meetup - we play every Saturday (year-round). Our Playa Del Rey location has free parking (assuming you arrive early), many nets, and multiple bathrooms close by. Unlike other groups - we do not discriminate! All skill levels are welcome! We are often described as a "HUGE beach party" - and I think that's pretty accurate!

LABV is TOTALLY FREE. There are NO hidden/surprise charges! However, if you can, we do ask for the occasional donation of whatever $$ you can afford! Donations cover our equipment (balls cost $90ea now!), the food and seltzers we sometimes provide, keeping the playlist going, as well as lots of other things!

Please note that all members are required to RSVP each and every week (before the RSVP list reaches its 60-plus person capacity) in order to play that week.

Fine Print: You must become a LABV member to find out exactly where we play, and you must RSVP on our meetup site every single week you wish to play. Also, you must have a photo of yourself (not your pet or whatever) in your profile to become a member. I try to answer all the usual questions in the "Pages" link or in here, so I'm sorry but I just can't respond to all emails asking questions already covered.
Our group has 2 different levels of play on Saturdays -
------- Courts open to ALL SKILL LEVELS (that plays 2's and 4's)
------- Courts open to HIGH-INTERMEDIATE PLAYERS (that play doubles)
Our guidelines:
1. All skill levels are welcome! We still try to maintain a fairly high level of play, but we also will not discriminate against you if you are a beginner. We are primarily a SOCIAL group, not a competitive group.
2. We are liberal on the rules of our games in fours. Please understand that certain CBVA violations are going to be allowed when playing fours. Doubles play is stricter on rules.
3. We would love for members to occasionally bring snacks! There is usually a communal blanket for food sharing.
4. NO stalking or other soap-opera drama! Let's remember this is a friendly group environment, not a single's bar. Complaints against members causing drama will result in removal from the group.
5. It is totally fine for you to come without a partner. We have sign-up lists to help with that, but typically newbies can just ask around to join a team.
