Meeting C++ is hosting an interview with Guy Davidson! He will be giving the talks What to look forward to in C++26 and Profiles are coming at Meeting C++ 2026! We'll also discuss the current situation at ISO with C++26 and what the upcoming ISO meeting in Brazil will bring.

Talk description:
The three-year train model continues to deliver as the next version of C++ heaves into view. In Croydon earlier this year the committee waved off the working draft to ISO to publish it as C++26. It will take a while to work its way through the process, but we're ready to start looking at what it delivers for you, the C++ user.
The obvious, big picture items are reflection, contracts and std::execution. These impact hugely on the standard in very different ways. We will spend some time looking at each of these features, but also other smaller items like the hardened standard library.
We'll also look ahead to C++29 and consider what is still to be done. The committee listens and adapts to outside commentary: here you will find out what we've updated.

Bio:
Guy Davidson has been writing games for over 40 years. For half of that time he worked at Creative Assembly, makers of the Total War franchise, where he was the Head of Engineering Practice. He is one of the founders of #include, the diversity and inclusion group for the C++ community. Now he is the Head of Engineering at a company largely based in Ukraine operating in stealth mode. In his "spare" time he serves on the C++ standard committee as the convenor. He is also the chair of programming languages for the BSI. In his "other" spare time he plays piano, sings for Brighton Festival Chrous, teaches Tai Chi, and involves himself with local politics more than might seem necessary.
