"In God We Trust" is the motto of the USA. Although the USA is officially a secular state, religion nevertheless plays a significant role, particularly in politics. Election years especially highlight the extent to which religious issues and actors are involved in political processes.
In his lecture, Prof. Dr. Benjamin Dahlke examines the role of religion in the context of the 2026 US midterm elections and analyzes how different religions influence the election and what role they play in the electoral process. In this way, the lecture offers a well-founded insight into American democracy.
