Friendship
[ NOTE 1: We've had this topic before, but it usually results in an interesting discussion ]
[ NOTE 2: You can sign up at any time ]
Friendship is defined as a relationship of mutual affection between people – a stronger form of bond than an acquaintance or a classmate, neighbour, co-worker or colleague.
We also distinguish between friendship and an intimate partnership, though one can easily morph into the other.
Let’s think about and discuss the importance of friendship in our own lives and generally for society.
Feel free to talk about various aspects of this kind of relationship and tell us anecdotes related to this.
Do you have a “best friend”? How and where and when did you meet the important friends in your life?
Do you ever feel lonely and wish you could make more friends?
Have friendships gone wrong for you? How do you repair a friendship if and when this happens?
What role do social media play in these processes?
And how does friendship help shape society – and in particular primitive tribal society that has evolved into the way we live our lives now?
As usual, feel free to arrive from 19:00 onwards; the discussion begins at 19:30
