Women — Stories, Strength & Perspective
Details
## International Women’s Day Photowalk
Sunday, March 8 · 2:00 PM – approx. 4:00 PM
Meeting Point: Middle of Gärtnerplatz, Munich
Duration: ~2 hours + optional social hour afterward
Let’s celebrate International Women’s Day together, and enjoy a beautiful spring afternoon in Munich.
This photowalk is dedicated to capturing women in all their dimensions: strength and softness, movement and stillness, detail and presence. We’ll explore how women shape the city — and how we, as photographers, can translate those moments into powerful visual stories.
The walk is free and open to everyone.
All levels are welcome — beginners, hobbyists, and professional photographers.
You can join with a camera or a smartphone.
If you’re a woman joining the walk, be open to being photographed by fellow participants. Feel free to wear something that makes you feel confident — perhaps a touch of makeup, an interesting accessory, or an outfit that expresses your personality. Of course, respect and consent always come first.
## Route Overview
Starting at Gärtnerplatz, we’ll explore areas including:
- St.-Jakobs-Platz
- Rindermarkt
- Kaufingerstraße area
- Viktualienmarkt and surrounding streets
Our exact path may shift depending on light, atmosphere, and spontaneous discoveries.

## Creative Challenges During the Walk
This won’t be just a casual stroll — throughout the two hours, you’ll receive short, focused creative tasks designed to stretch your eye and deepen your storytelling. Approximately every 15–20 minutes, I’ll introduce a new mini challenge.
Examples include:
- Capture “Strength in Motion” — photograph a woman walking, working, or moving with intention.
- Create a layered composition: foreground + woman + city.
- Tell a story through details only — no faces allowed.
- Use reflections to create a double image or symbolic composition.
- Photograph quiet power — a calm, introspective moment in soft light.
- Show the world from her perspective — over-the-shoulder or point-of-view framing.
- Create a 2–3 image mini-series that tells a story.
These challenges are invitations, not rules. Interpret them in your own way and at your own pace.

We’ll finish around 4:00 PM, and everyone is invited to continue for about an hour or more at a nearby café or beer spot (location will be announced during the walk) to socialize, share impressions, and enjoy the afternoon together.
Join us for an inspiring walk through Munich — celebrating women, perspective, and the art of seeing.
