Munich Social Gaming

As part of the "Stadt, Land, Spielt!" event hosted by the Munich City Library (M_BIB) at Motorama, the "Clocktower München Community" is offering several simultaneous Blood on the Clocktower tracks.
There are currently 11 or 12 games scheduled with various Storytellers, catering to both beginners 🟢 and experienced players 🟡🟡.

Unfortunately, the platform at hand does not ideally handle the logistics, as the event involves multiple simultaneous tracks. 😥

That is why we are using the "BotC Map" community infrastructure for the registration process this time:

The event takes place in motorama (not Gasteig hp8).

Speaking German is a plus to attend (most games are in German, some language neutral), but it's not a must.

The event is called "Stadt Land spielt". Board
Game publishers will offer new board, card and dice games to try and play between 12.00pm and 22.00 pm (we can also bring and play our games).

As 10 hours are a long time, I split this event into two parts. Please sign up for the slot when you want to join to have a rough idea how many will join. It does not mean you have to be punctual at the start or be there the whole time.

As a bonus, there will be a games rally where 3 games (from 7 years) will be played and there are prices.

How to get there:
A) coming from S-Bahn, you follow signs for "Gasteig Muffathalle". Take the escalator up, turn left and enter the "Motorama", where there is another escalator. Continue walking until you find a yellow room called "Showroom".
B) If you're entering from the riverside/isartor, you find the "Motorama" on the right side, within the building you pass along a restaurant and a store called "Hit" and find escalator where you go up, turn around and see a yellow room called "Showroom"

Hi all,

welcome to our board game meetup.

No matter whether you like...

• easier/shorter games (e.g. Uno, Coup, Saboteur, exploding kittens, many more),
• social deduction games (e.g. werewolf, mafia, temple, Avalon, blood on the clocktower, many more) or
• long games (e.g. ticket to ride, Dune, root, terra forming Mars, many more)

... you can join us and have fun.

We also have an active WhatsApp group. It's not a must to join. Just join the event and if you like it, you may join the WhatsApp group. You may ask other participants for the link/QR code during the event. Please avoid asking the event organizer for the WhatsApp group access link via meetup.

FAQs:

• It's a beer garden. it's normal to bring and eat your own food. please avoid bringing and consuming your own beverages (alcoholic and non-alcoholic) and buy it from the beer garden.

• The location marked in Google maps for the event is about where we usually meet. not under the tower, more towards the playground. We play about 8 to 10 beer bench columns away from the kids playground. If this is your first event, just come like 60 minutes after the start and more people will be there who are easy to spot.

• You always can join late and/or leave early. The mentioned time is the start and end of the overall event time slot when we're there. The general language is English.

• You can join the event for free.

• This event takes place each week somewhere (in the winter or with bad weather somewhere inside, in the summer outside at the Chinese tower). We will announce when and where via meetup.

• We play the games that all participants bring to the event. Some bring shorter games, some longer.

• It's normal to explain games before starting. You can probably find a game that suits you.

• If you own games, please bring them. You can join as a newbie or when you don't have much experience.

• You may join the WhatsApp group to learn which long games are being offered and can learn the rules beforehand. we have groups dedicated to social deduction Games, strategy games and more

• There are plenty toilets belonging to the beer garden.

• There are enough beer tables and benches, in the sun and shadow.

We do play a lot of different board and card games, e.g. exploding kittens, the gang, Saboteur, Catan, terra forming Mars, just to name a very few.

Usually, people are bringing enough boardgames, so its Ok bringing none :-)

Feedback to some event reviews: there are some negative reviews of the event when people feel "excluded". Let me comment. usually we play in groups of people at the tables some games. These groups can be full depending on the game and groups might play games for a while. If some might join later in the evening, there might be the situation that everyone is already playing and groups/tables are full / busy. Please join on time or be patient to wait until there is a chance to join a new round of games at some table. Of course, we do not exclude anyone and everyone is welcome to join our event :-)

As we play weekly in a German restaurant:

• Ordering more than 1 drink or even food will support our boardgame meetup to be there long-term. The restaurant is quite full (especially in the winter) and we occupy several big tables that the restaurant otherwise would give to other customers
• Tipping the waiter 5-15% is showing gratitude and something the waiters got used to in Germany
  -Please remember what you have ordered, when the waiter is coming around and trying to serve it
• Paying in cash is preferred. Local bank account card is possible from 10 Euro. Credit cards are not accepted by the restaurant.
