“Windows 10 Nice (Python Cloud Native App) Development Environment”, Paweł Chaniewski

Abstract: Presentation on how to setup a development environment that will boost your productivity on Windows 10 + with the demo of how to use it by building Python Cloud Native App (Python + Tornado + RabbitMQ & Pika + ReactJS). This talk will cover -

  • PowerShell (w/ Terminal) - use it instead of git-bash!
  • Docker for Windows and built-in k8s cluster
  • Building and running containers
  • Communication between containers
  • Exposing and testing your app
  • VSCode and plugins
  • Remote extensions (WSL + SSH + Containers)

SPEAKER BIOS:

Paweł Chaniewski, Software Engineer at Grape Up, former Python developer. Jack of all trades with many areas of interest, just to mention a few: Programming and Cloud technologies, welding, wood working, music (guitar and bass), brewing, cycling... Constantly trying to tame himself not to get another hobby.

Frederic Branczyk is the founder and CEO of Polar Signals. Before founding Polar Signals he was a senior principal engineer and the main architect for all things Observability at Red Hat, which he joined through the CoreOS acquisition. Frederic is a Prometheus and Thanos maintainer as well as the tech lead for the special interest group for instrumentation in Kubernetes. In a previous life, he was a security researcher working on key management solutions as well as intrusion detection systems. When not working on software Frederic enjoys obsessing over brewing a perfect cup of coffee.
