New year, new venue, new topic: our community meetup is back for the #23 round, and we’re kicking off the season with a special event at display focused on live coding.
Live coding is a digital art practice that emphasizes experimentation. Here, we still write the code ourselves—and don't claim our tools are creative—and we embrace glitches and collective experimentation with algorithms in real time. The live-coding tools Hydra and Strudel are particularly beginner-friendly and can deliver great results and expressive possibilities even without any prior knowledge.

We’ll kick off the day at 2:00 PM with two parallel workshops on live-coding interactive visuals and live coding sound, which are open to anyone interested.
At 7:00 PM, we’ll open the event for a meetup, and the workshop leaders—Düsseldorf-based digital artist Flor de Fuego and the Frankfurt team of Tobias Hecker, Felix Roos, and Hannes Güdelhöfer—will present their artistic work, their live-coding tools, and their approaches to using these tools. In addition—despite the innovative content, in keeping with good old tradition—there will be delicious soup for free.
Afterward, the artists, workshop participants, and display invite you to the first display Algorave.

Come by, enjoy, and jam along!
