In the age of digital media there is a growing demand for voice-over artists, and all you need to enter the industry is a good voice, a laptop, and a decent microphone. From Youtube channels to radio, audiobooks to documentaries, this workshop offers a nuts and bolts approach to recording your own voice demo, finding paid work, and working with your voice to create a challenging but fun source of income.

In this playful, two-hour workshop, we will use games, exercises and mock recordings to explore your potential as a voice actor.

Participant numbers are limited, so each workshop will be intimate and focused. If there is enough interest, participants are invited to natter and network with other participants in a bar afterwards.

As a widely published writer, teacher and performer, Geoff draws on boundless humour and energy, as well as over twenty years of professional experience, to bring you an engaging workshop experience. He has provided voice-overs for the BBC, Waterstone's, Manchester University, Listening Books as well as a number of radio plays. He recently played the comic lead in a series of commercial films for Mercedes.

Who is this workshop for?
Anyone who has a specific interest in the topic being explored, and wishes to develop their skills or understanding as a performer. If you've never performed before, and you have the confidence to explore new territory, come along!

What's the refund policy?

Unfortunately no refunds, unless someone on the reserve list fills your place. It's a small group, so no-shows impact the workshop dynamic, and make it difficult if I've planned for a specific number of people. In rare cases it may be possible to transfer the credit to another workshop.

What should I bring? How can I prepare?

Wear loose, comfortable clothing. Bring a bottle (of water, not vodka).

Where is the workshop based?

Atelier Äuglein is a creative, co-working space in Kreuzberg with a dedicated practise room for musical & vocal arts. The practise room is in the basement. It's cosy and very 'Kreuzberg' i.e. rough and ready. rIf you don't like enclosed spaces with no windows (like many studios are), this one may not be for you.
