Artificial Intelligence (AI) is increasingly shaping our lives, but how can we shape AI? In this talk, the researcher Christian Djeffal will examine uses of AI in public policy. Christian’s work asks how normativity can open up creative spaces that enable us to use technologies in very different ways. He will look at present and future struggles over AI, with a focus on how the technology might be employed in public administration. The discussion will examine current methods for dealing with AI from the perspectives of ethics, human rights, sustainable development, and regulation. Attendees will also be asked to think about how AI might shape governance of the future.
To kick off the evening there will be a short presentation by Nushin Yazdani exploring the ethical implications of artificial intelligence.
