Biotech Connect Leipzig - December Edition

***

Meet Felix Lansing, co-founder & CTO of Seamless Therapeutics, on taking a TU Dresden gene-editing technology all the way to a billion-dollar deal with Eli Lilly.

📅 Tuesday, December 15
⏰ Door 19:00 · Talk 19:15
📍 Basislager Coworking, Peterssteinweg 14, Leipzig

Seamless Therapeutics develops gene-editing therapies based on programmable “designer recombinases”. These are enzymes that can cut out, flip, swap or insert pieces of DNA at a chosen spot in the genome. A TU Dresden spin-off, Seamless launched in 2023 with a $12.5M seed round. In January 2026 it signed a global research collaboration with Eli Lilly on hearing loss, potentially worth more than $1.12 billion.

Felix will share how he went from PhD researcher to co-founding Seamless, and how AI is changing the way his team designs these enzymes.

Why we meet
Leipzig and Saxony are home to world-class life-science research. Too little of it becomes a company.

Ideas aren’t the missing piece. What’s often missing is the team around them: the researcher with the discovery, the engineer who can build it, the founder who has done it before, the investor who can back it. Those people rarely meet.

Biotech Connect Leipzig brings them into one room, every month.
Our goal: more biotech startups founded in this region, and a community strong enough to help them grow.
