Talk 1: Reinventing the wheel - Why we created our own reporting solution by Benjamin Bischoff

Teaser: One of my two open source projects related to Cucumber BDD is the reporting library Cluecumber. In this session, Benjamin will talk about the challenges and pitfalls of our former test reporting, how we tackled them and - ultimately - why we decided to create our own solution instead of going with the de facto standard. Also, he will touch on how test reporting helps us in our daily testing why it was a good choice to release this project as open source in its early stages instead of keeping it in-house.

Bio: Benjamin spent the first 15 years of his career as a software developer and trainer. He decided in 2016 after getting fascinated with Selenium to make test automation his main profession. As a Test Automation Engineer within the core QA team at trivago, his focus shifted more to backend and API testing after five years as the core developer of their in-house UI test automation framework. Benjamin is the author of the book "Writing API Tests With Karate" and maintains multiple test related open source. Also, he is a well-known conference speaker and author on testing, automation and software craftsmanship topics. More information can be found on his website www.softwaretester.blog.

Talk 2: Stories about quality coaching by Viviane Hennecke, Accenture

In this session, you will learn how the unique combination of advanced quality assurance and agility knowledge is coupled with change management and coaching skills to take quality to the next level. To make it even more tangible, you will hear a real-life story of how we have improved the acceptance criteria quality of dozens of teams by applying quality coaching.

In parallel, she leads the Thought Leadership Team there, whose mission is to disseminate and discuss knowledge and innovative ideas about quality assurance. In both areas of focus, she benefits from her studies in communications management and her neurodivergent mind.

Talk 3: From Oversight to Ownership - The Central Role of QA in trivago’s App Release Cycle by Iryna Kruhlik, trivago

Teaser: Step into the world of Quality Assurance where we lead the way in trivago’s app updates. We’ll share how our QA team has taken over the release process, the benefits this change brings, and the detailed steps we follow from start to finish. Find out how we keep things running smoothly, manage weekly updates, and stay ready for any urgent fixes that might come up. Whether you’re curious about the technical side or the planning that goes into our work, this talk will give you a behind-the-scenes look at how we aim for the best quality in our apps.
