Lunch Date around Data Science and Engineering (remote)
Details
Data science is critically reshaping our world and at an ever-increasing rate. Join us for a lunch date (bring your own lunch) with others in data science and data engineering. We will have a informal remote get together via Zoom and will be discussing all things related to Data Science.
🔊 👩 👩🏻 👩🏽 Some of the people you can meet at this lunch-get-together:
Demet Sude Saplik ( Data Engineer @ Beiersdorf's Data Science Hub team)
During my Bachelor's studies, I developed a fascination for Big Data topics, which further deepened during my Master's program, where I focused on this subject for my thesis. My role involves close collaboration with Data Scientists and Machine Learning Engineers, allowing me to contribute my skills and creativity in extracting value from vast amounts of data. Outside of work, I find joy in exploring photography and art, as they resonate with my visual sensibilities. You can also meet Demet in our next Python class as she will be teaching the beginners level.
Tejashree Aher (Software Engineering Leader @ HolidayCheck)
Tejashree is a software engineering leader with more than 10 years of industry experience. She started her career as a Backend Engineer and eventually moved to the big data world owing to her desire to build the most customer-friendly products. She enjoys working in startups and has built products from scratch catering to the scale of millions of concurrent users in India and now in Germany. She is currently leading engineering teams at HolidayCheck in Germany. Outside her work, she enjoys reading, painting and mentoring women looking to explore career opportunities in Technology.
Julie Lange (Data Engineer @ Ginkgo Analytics)
Julie started her entry into IT through a bootcamp at Neue Fische and now works as a Data Engineer. She has made great use of the mentoring program of moinworld to prepare herself for starting her career.
Josefine Kuka (Head of Data Engineering @ Otto Group)
She is currently a department manager for Data Engineers at the Otto Group. "In the area where I work, we develop data and machine learning solutions for e-commerce. Programming with Python is therefore absolute everyday work, especially also in my previous role as Data Scientist. I got my start in computer science with a dual study program together with IBM. She is also mentor for moinworld Python classes advanced and beginners.
Theresa Wohlsen (Machine Learning Engineer @ Otto Group data.works)
Theresa works as a Machine Learning Engineer at Otto Group data.works. There she develops Machine Learning solutions for different companies of the Otto Group.
Theresa's career started as an industrial engineer at Airbus, where her interest in data sparked. To deepen her skills, she moved to Copenhagen in 2019 for her Master's degree. Besides her studies, she worked for startups in the field of data analytics and data science. Theresa also has been teaching Python at moinworld to aspiring beginners.
Katalin Westhoff (Data Scientist @ Siemens Financial Services)
Katalin has been working as a Data Scientist for about four years now. After her time in consulting, she now works at the Discovery Lab at Siemens Financial Services. There, Machine Learning solutions are developed for different business units. Before starting her professional life, she studied a combined degree program in computer science and communication sciences at RWTH Aachen University. She is also a moinworld mentor and Python class instructor.
