Scribble House's mission is to build a community of writers and other creative folks in Pittsburgh--connecting them with each other and with resources to improve and share their work.
Our regular events include our Feedback Open Mic series and the Send It! group (which is currently on hiatus but will be returning in mid-2025). We also hold the annual Scribble House Lit Fest in the fall and a smattering of other events throughout the year.

Send It! is a group where writers and artists get together to send our work to publishers, share info about open submission calls of interest, and support each other in the sometimes soul-crushing process of finding a home for our creative work.
You can join us virtually via Zoom by clicking on the link below:

We'll start each meeting with a brief 5-10 minute chat and check-in to talk about what we're submitting, share open calls, or ask questions. Then, we'll all mute and get to work submitting! The chat will stay open for folks to silently share cool open calls they find or get advice from other attendees.
We'll re-convene to check-in at the halfway point (2pm) then again at the end. Folks are welcome to stay the whole time or pop in and out, and there's no obligation to unmute and share! If you'd rather lurk camera-off and silent, we're all writers, mostly introverts, and we get it.
There will also be resources available for submitters (links will be posted in the Zoom room chat, too):

- Open Calls - curated list of currently open submission calls and contests that the Scribble House folks have our eyes on
Folks are free (and encouraged!) to invite friends or share the group with other writers and artists you think would find it helpful. The idea is to support and learn from each other, with the goal that everyone who comes will send at least 1 submission (or as many as you feel like sending!).
