I assume you know Malcolm Arnold, founder of RubyNuby.com or org who is also dedicated to teach ghetto kids to code in ruby.

We, ourselves are looking for an activist coder (any language) for very neat project that could, hopefully shut down the country till we get our democracy back. php preferred.

ScriptEd is a new nonprofit organization that is closing the technological opportunity gap by bringing computer programming and web-development courses to high-needs schools as an after-school program.

ScriptEd's pilot program launches at the end of September at Harlem Village Academies High School, and we are looking for developers interested in tutoring our first group of high school students. The course will be taught using javascript, html and css on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons at the high school.  The time commitment is flexible.

Our volunteer orientation and training will be on September 16th from 3:00 to 6:00 PM at Columbia University's Teachers College.   RSVP by replying to [address removed].  Please also respond if you're interested in getting involved but can't make the training.

Best,

Maurya Couvares and Elizabeth Davidson
