- Final Discussion for 2025 Japan Trip - Online Zoom Meeting (November Trip)Link visible for attendees
Hey guys,
This is an event to discuss our upcoming trip to Japan! We've had a lot of interest in our Japan trip this year. This will be our chance to lock in our deposit and see who is serious about going. If we can reach 7 attendees or more we'll go through with this event. This meetup is a chance to come and ask questions, receive information, and meet others with similar interests. We tried to do some last year but it didn't quite align so we'll give it another go this year!
Trips we've completed as a group in the past:
Japan (Spring 2023)
San Diego (pre-covid)
Seattle (pre-covid)
San Jose (pre-covid)We'll have plenty more information at this event but would like to see what level of serious interest there is.
Here is some more details about each of the trips and destinations:
PPT of trip breakdown (details will most likely change but you can get the idea)Japan - 2 packages available to visit Tokyo, Osaka, Kyoto, and other popular areas around Japan. Typically 10~18 days in Japan.
I'll update some more links regarding trip details as they are locked in.
Please only RSVP if you have serious interest in these events.
Thanks,
Arthur - Picnic @ Golden Gate Park (Late August Fiesta)Hellman Hollow (Golden Gate Park), San Francisco, CA
Hey guys ~ Our picnics are always fun and range in size. This particular picnic doesn't really have a theme but will still be a great afternoon out at the park.
This is a ticketed event!! See below for details.
I'll bring a chest full of beer, some wines, and some other fun drinks for people to enjoy.
We'll have corn hole, Jenga, spike ball, volleyball, and plenty of other fun games going on throughout the day.
*There is also a free reggae concert starting at 4:30p-7:30p at the Golden Gate Bandshell.
This particular event is always a blast and is simply a massive picnic potluck at Golden Gate Park. Please bring some food to share with the group! We typically go and grab some grub with the remaining poeple at the event as well.
I'll also bring out a large speaker and put together a special playlist to blast to the sound of making new friends.
Purchase your ticket HERE
(100% refund within 24 hours before the event)I'll have 2 tables set-up with red/white picnic tablecloth and will be wearing a colorful headband so that we're easier to locate. I'm hoping to secure some space close to the bathrooms in Hellman Hollow. The pin drop on the meetup map is usually pretty accurate.
Thanks & I'm looking forward to seeing you all,
Arthur - The Ultimate Crawl - North Beach EditionBarbarossa Lounge, San Francisco, CA
Hey guys ~ This event will be an exploration of North Beach and all of the bars/clubs that have survived the past few years. North beach is one of the few neighborhoods in SF that I feel has thrived regardless of what else is happening around SF.
About:
Keep in mind that these pub crawls are more about exploring new places opposed to going to 3-4 dives and getting drunk. The idea is to learn about the neighborhood and checkout a large array of bars ranging from dives to lounges to sport bars so that you can confidently revisit them in the future. Everyone will receive a map of the area as well as some ice breaker games at the 1st bar. We'll explore some fun spots with a lot of character as we mix and mingle with our classic ice-breaker bingo game.
Tickets:
This is a ticked event ~ please purchase your ticket below. There is a 100% refund policy. If you don't have a good time or it's not for you, you can get your $$ back!Men's General Admission
This event is FREE for women! It's likely that we'll end up back in the same bar where we began by the end of the crawl. There will be a dancing option with a great DJ performing. Please keep in mind that if you do wish to partake in the dancing there are dress codes at some locations.
The total walking distance will be about 1.5 miles and will consist of checking out approximately 35 different bars, restaurants, and lounges.
There are essentially 3 types of 'stops'.
- #1 is us stopping in for a drink (usually about 45min) and checking the spot out.
- #2 is a quick walk through where essentially we'll enter, touch the back wall, and depart.
- #3 is just a pass-by. We'll just walk past these places and point them out for later investigation!
Please note that the crawl isn't so much about drinking as it is about seeing and learning about new places! We don't actually stop for a drink at every place on the list but will be able to do a quick walk-through at most.
Each of these locations are known for something different and each provide a fun atmosphere to meet new people or bring a friend. Since this will be our first time doing the North beach crawl in the new year it'll be fun to explore some new places together!
Dress Code: We won't be visiting any venues with a dress code so dress comfortable and don't forget to dress warm as it'll be colder near the water! Do note that we'll have the option to go dancing after the crawl for some dancing and there is typically a dress code.
Parking: There's a decent amount of street parking but I wouldn't necessarily recommend leaving anything in your car around that neighborhood. Metered spots are usually FREE after 6pm depending on if there are events in the area, but always check. There are several parking garages as well. The area is slightly more difficult to get to but is a short walk from Bart and accessible by bus.
Please eat before the event as we have dinner on the schedule but it is difficult for the whole group to eat at one location. Thus, it's usually a quick stop.
It's bound to be a magical night! I'm excited to enjoy it with everyone,
ArthurPlease drink responsibly and don't drive under the influence!
- Golden Gate Bridge Bike Ride (weather permitting)San Francisco Bicycle Rentals, San Francisco, CA
Hey guys, the weather in Fall is typically pretty fire throughout the Bay. Thus, I want to attempt our typical spring bike ride over the bridge. With clear skies and beautiful sunsets, I think it's a great opportunity to get after it. This ride is a lot of fun and a mostly easy bike ride! We move pretty slow and take plenty of breaks. It's more like a joy ride than anything aggressive although there are a few hills and obstacles.
This event is always a gamble with the San Francisco weather but we tend to get lucky. We'll give it a shot and I'll update the meetup 2 days before if it's canceled.
Route:
We'll depart Fisherman's Wharf at the bike rental location in the morning and ride over the bridge into Sausalito where we'll grab some lunch and check out the small tourist town.Everyone is on their own for lunch once we get into Sausalito & you'll have the option to opt out (some people will be ready to head back) and take the ferry back to Fisherman's Wharf close to where we started.
Those looking for a bit more adventure will have the option to ride into Tiburon with the remaining survivors. Once we hit the edge of Tiburon we'll grab some grub and a drink while we wait to catch the ferry back to the Ferry Building. From there, it's a quick ride north along the Embarcadero to the bike rental dropoff.
The Ride:
We'll be stopping to check out some awesome views along the way which include the Marin Headlands and other famous 'tourist hot spots'. The ride itself does have some uphill climbs and while it's open to everyone, it may be difficult for those not used to riding a bike! The ride itself will take almost 2 hours of pure riding but we'll be stopping pretty regularly to gather the group and check out different areas. Bring some water and sunscreen!
Every now and then we'll break into two different groups in which the first group will do a more challenging course before meeting back up with everyone.
Bike Rentals:
Everyone is responsible for their own bikes. If you need to rent a bike I would recommend checking out San Francisco Bicycle Rentals (http://www.bikerentalsanfrancisco.com/) - this is also the location where we will kickoff from in the morning.I recommend the 'City Bike' or Hybrid. They also have performance bikes or even electric bikes available.
If you reserve online you'll get 20% off which makes the City Bike more reasonable. Reservations are also currently recommended due to popularity.
Weather: If it's raining or there are heavy winds we will postpone this event.
Parking: Don't do it. Take public transportation or a taxi service if you can. There IS parking in Fisherman's Wharf but it's either extremely hard or find or costs a bit for the day.

- Beginners Bartending Course - Tasting & Cocktail Making (@my private res)Needs location
Hey guys, we're back at it with another bartending blitz course. Space is very limited as always. This particular event is limited to 7 participants and will be hosted at my private residence opposed to an actual bar. This is my first time trying it at my private residence but I'd like to avoid the distractions incurred with doing it at an actual bar.
I personally live in Brisbane and will be hosting the class here. I'll send the actual address to students after purchasing their ticket. I'll shutdown ticket sales once we max out on attendees.
In the past I've hosted several bartending courses. Originally, each class was approximately 10 hours and ran over 3 days. While super immersive and informative; I've condensed the class time to just ~4 hours and feature it now as a "Blitz Course".
The class itself will run about 4 hours and include tastings, making several actual cocktails, and tons of tips and tricks in regard to casual bartending for friends.
The class will begin by reviewing an informative PPT before we dive into some tastings and finish the class with making 3 actual cocktails. Every student will get to leave with a printout of tips and tricks for hosting a party as well as a "Raise the Bahr Certified" certificate at the end of the course to show your newfound skills...
I myself have been bartending for over 13 years and have worked/managed at beverage catering companies, festivals, neighborhood bars, and currently run my own private home bartending business under "Raise the Bahr".
We'll kick the class off with a Q&A and introduction to bartending at which time students can ask questions as we go over a PPT reviewing the basics. This will also include some tastings as well as tips, tricks, and facts to impress your friends.
The class will move quick but I hope to get everyone involved and walking away content with their new knowledge.

Feel free to message me if you have any questions, concerns, or comments in regard to the bartending classes.
~Thanks and I'm excited to teach new students all about bartending.
