Overview

Delight in holiday whimsy: admire stunning gingerbread houses, sip warm cocoa by lit fireplaces, and connect with fellow fans who crave seasonal joy.

Details

Join us at the historic Grove Park Inn to check out the National Gingerbread competition. They'll have amazingly creative gingerbread houses, huge Christmas trees, festive lights, and hot chocolate served from a life-size gingerbread house.

We will meet at 5:15 p.m. at E.W. Grove Park (https://g.co/kgs/X8XykZ2). There is parking available on Gertrude Place opposite Charlotte Street. We will walk uphill to the Grove Park Inn through a scenic North Asheville neighborhood (it's about a .75-mile walk). Bring a flashlight or charge your phone since it will be a dark walk back. After viewing the gingerbread houses and drinking hot chocolate near the huge fireplaces in the Grove Park lobby, we’ll walk back down to E.W. Grove Park around 7:45 pm.

If you’d prefer not to walk and want to park at the Grove Park Inn, they charge extra for parking to raise money for charity around the holidays; the rates are $30 for self-parking (if they have self-park spots available) and $40 for valet.

Hope to see you there!
