Sneak Into Muir Woods during Shutdown 🤫 (Moderate Diff, 4.7 mi)

Supposedly, Muir Woods is super cool to explore right now because it’s mostly empty due to the shutdown! Let’s take a back trail in and take a look!

THIS TRAIL IS MODERATE DIFFICULTY AND MAY NOT BE SUITABLE FOR LESS EXPERIENCED HIKERS. Feel free to skip this hike and join one of our easier hikes if you’re unsure :)

Parking is street parking— I recommend checking further up the road past the trail since apple maps show more cars parked up there.

Depending on how long we explore Muir Woods, the hike should take 2.5-3 hours. We’ll be back at our cars around lunctime!
