6 week mindfulness course to help you set up your daily sit

Details

Would you like to feel less stressed and more connected? Personal challenges can infect other areas of your life despite your best intentions to be upbeat.

Do you want to smell the roses again? Feel less tired? More optimistic when you read emails? Hear yourself be more positive in your conversations? Feel that life has a fresher flavour?

It’s possible.

A daily mindfulness practice can help support you bounce back more easily. There are decades of high-quality research into the psychological benefits of mindfulness even in very challenging circumstances.

Here’s what’s on offer. Each week, you'll hear a short inspiring talk, listen to a guided mindfulness sit and learn easy ways for you to set up a daily mindfulness practice to continue when the course ends. You can stay online after each session to ask questions.

When and where? You'll be sent an invite with an online link for the 6 Saturdays on 1, 8, 15, 22, 29 June, 6 July. The session begins at 7am Brisbane time (AEST) for an hour with an option to stay for the last 30 mins to ask your questions).

You don't need experience. Your open-mind and enough video bandwidth to see each other is all you need.

When you attend all sessions and follow the instructions for a daily mindfulness sit, you'll have a daily routine in place for a consistent practice to develop after the course.

Week 1: Introduction to mindfulness.
Week 2: Mindfulness of the body.
Week 3: Mindfulness of emotions.
Week 4: Mindfulness of thoughts.
Week 5: The wise heart
Week 6: Continuing your practice after the course.

Who’ll be guiding you? Wendy Nash has a diploma of Insight & Compassion Meditation Teaching, a Somatic Psychotherapy Diploma and a Bachelor of Psychology (Hons). Her honours research project studied the effect of loving-kindness practices on kindness towards others. She's practised mindfulness for over 20 years with internationally renowned teachers in Australia, Europe and North America and her approach is to make mindfulness easy to apply in daily life. This course is requirement for a 2-year Mindfulness Meditation Teacher Certification Program led by Tara Brach and Jack Kornfield, 2 of the world's most well-regarded mindfulness teachers.

What’s Get Around Cabo Carfree? Wendy started Get Around Cabo Carfree to advocate for more transport options for people who don't drive in Caboolture, SE Qld because around 1 in 2 people here don't drive. Her long-standing mindfulness practice helps her keep sane and she hopes others will find it equally beneficial. In previous roles, Wendy worked in corporate and public sector roles in Australia and Europe.

You're welcome to ask your questions via messages and forward this course to others who might be interested.
