Planet Word is an immersive language experience located at the historic Franklin School in Washington, D.C. Planet Word is a voice-activated museum with interactive galleries and exhibits that bring words and language to life in fun ways.

We'll tour the museum and then have lunch at Immigrant Food, located on the lower level of the building. The restaurant offers casual immigrant-inspired fare.

General admission to the museum is free, with a suggested $15 donation.

The Armistice Agreement ending World War I was signed in a rail car at Compiegne, France, at the 11th hour on the 11th day of the 11th month in 1918. (Compiegne is very much worth a visit next time you're in France. And while you're there, DO NOT MISS the nearby chateaux of Pierrefonds and Chantilly.)
Armistice Day is commemorated among all of the nations that fought “this war to end all wars”
Armistice Day was re-designated Veterans Day in 1965 in the United States, to honor US Veterans of ALL wars.
The United States Air Force Memorial is the last military service monument to be erected in the National Capital Region.
There will be a wreath laying ceremony and a two-minute moment of silence to commemorate those members of the U.S. armed forces who have been killed during war.
The ceremony begins at 11:00 am. We will assemble at 10:30 am in front of Dama Pastry and Restaurant, 1503 Columbia Pike, Arlington, VA 22204 and walk the short distance to the Memorial.
After visiting the Memorial, we'll head for lunch and conversation at William Jeffrey's Tavern, 2301 Columbia Pike, Arlington, VA 22204.

From Zippers to Velcro to Tampons to Jockstraps, add Asphalt and Airplanes and TV's and Tupperware, our lives have been changed by the inventiveness of people with a "better" idea.

Lets go to the National Inventors Hall of Fame Museum in Alexandria, VA and check out the exhibits honoring the people behind Whiteout and Duct Tape and Teflon and Play-Doh and Band-Aids. Not to omit Pacemakers and Antiseptics and Cell phones and ATM's.

Every inventor has an interesting story, which is likely an inspiration to all of us.

We have arranged for a guided tour of the museum for this event. Please build in parking/travel time to accommodate our tour guide at 11:00 am.

Lunch will be at The Executive Diner, 1400 Duke Street, Alexandria, VA 22314. Plenty of free parking and we will have a private dining area.
