3D Radio, 93.7 FM, has broadcast The Hillbilly Hoot live in the open air every Monday evening for the past 15 years. It is relaxed, fun and free! Broadcast time is from 8pm until 9pm, give or take a minute or two.
Bring along your own chairs or rugs, picnic meal, your own wine, beer etc and settle down for an hour of live musical entertainment as some of Adelaide's best musicians gather to air their talent and love of music on radio. No need to participate, just relax and be entertained.
There's plenty of parking available on Nelson Street, in the carpark, in nearby streets (and there are business carparks unused at that time of the day).
Most weeks there's a 'chook raffle' for a measly $2 and the proceeds allow 3D to stay on air as it's a totally volunteer-run community radio station. No paid staff at all.
If you're talented, musically-speaking, come along and put your name 'into the hat' for a chance to be one of the acts for the evening.
No need to book, just rock-up after 7pm for the 8pm program on-air start; stay for a post-broadcast jam session, if you like.
The stage is weather-proof in a sound-shell/mini amphitheatre and there's room for the audience if the weather gets a bit too wet and wild.
Otherwise sit under the stars on a rug or chair on the soft lawn.
This is a relaxing, fun way to spend an hour or so on a Monday evening, and it's totally free. Be prepared to enjoy yourself. Clap till your hands are red.
So, if you're after a bit of a musical happening with a metaphorical "pot of hot soup and a campfire" atmosphere, look no further - just come along to the Hoot and join in.

PS: There's a sausage sizzle on these past few weeks to aid local community groups. Great value and great taste, especially those fried onions. Mmmm.
