Hi All,
Everyone's talking about AI agents, cloud security, and the shifting shape of software engineering.
But what does that actually look like in practice — on real systems, with real developer and infrastructure workflows?
For June we're trying something different: two shorter technical talks , two presenters, and more room for discussion.
Date: Thursday, 18th June 2026
Time: 5:30pm
Venue: WGA — thanks to WGA for hosting
## Karan Sethi : AWS Security Agent
Karan Sethi, Cloud Engineer II at AWS, will present and demo the recently released AWS Security Agent — a frontier agent for on-demand application security testing, built to discover, verify, and report security risks across the development lifecycle:
design security review
code security review
application-specific penetration testing
Karan's background spans cloud security, networking, solutions architecture, migrations, SRE, AI workloads, infrastructure optimisation, and mentoring - currently working across containers, AI workloads, and security on AWS.
This is a practical walkthrough of what the agent does, where it fits, and how AI-assisted security testing may change the way developers and security teams work.
## Tishampati Dhar : Summit Notes, Cloud Systems, and Applied AI
Tishampati Dhar draws on his recent AWS Summit experience and his broader work across cloud systems, data systems, remote sensing, GIS, mathematical modelling, IoT prototyping, and engineering leadership.
Rather than a general conference recap, this is about the technical ideas worth paying attention to: what looked genuinely useful, what connects to real engineering work, and what may matter for builders working with cloud, data, AI, and infrastructure. If time allows, Tish may also touch on foundation models for geospatial data — and how these approaches are starting to apply to remote sensing, Earth observation, and spatial systems.
## The format this month
two short technical talks, ~20 minutes each
practical content over polish
room for questions and discussion
a possible short organiser update or demo if time allows
Who this is for: Developers, architects, cloud, security, data, and platform engineers — and anyone interested in AWS, AI agents, cloud security, and applied AI. No prior AI/ML or security experience required.
