Presentation 1)

Ben Everard
Ben is co-founder and developer at The Idea Bureau, united with charities, social enterprises and public sector organisations worldwide, turning ideas into standout websites, apps and services that drives change.

TALK: How we used the NHS Service Manual and WordPress to build essential products for the NHS during the Covid-19 outbreak.

In this talk, we take a look at the process of designing and building products for the NHS during the Covid-19 outbreak, how the NHS Service Manual and WordPress enabled us to deliver quickly, and what we lessons were during the process.

Presentation 2)

Barbara Saul
Content Wrangler for WP UP & UP

Babs (or Barbara – whatever suits…) discovered WordPress in 2008 and has helped business owners and organisations make the most of WP for their blogs and websites ever since.

Supporting WordCamp London teams since 2016, she is assisting Dan as his co-lead for 2019 co-lead. All because she loves the WordPress community – it really is extraordinarily special. Babs has also spoken at the London WordPress Meetup, WordCamp Brighton and WordCamp Manchester, and leads the WordPress Maidstone meetup.

The day job involves working as The Blogmistress, enabling people to work with WordPress themselves and to get blogging! Or just looking after all the WP gubbins for them.

TALK: Together we’re stronger

How a community can get us through tough times, at any time.
Babs works with WP&UP on the content for the website but also with fundraising. And anything else they let her join in with. In this talk, she'll explore how community has become even more important and how we can embrace this.

IMPORTANT NOTES TO ALL

This is an online event hosted using Zoom. The link displayed on this page is password protected. People who have RSVP'd should receive an email through meetup that contains the password to access the meetup. If you haven't received it, or you RSVP'd after 3pm on the day of the meetup please either Tweet @kirstyburgoine or ping me through the WP UK Slack Channel for the password.

Please be aware that we do intend to record the Meetup for future use and by joining the Zoom call you understand that the recording will show that you were in attendance. If you prefer, you can switch off your camera so that your face does not appear, only your name, (unless you have your own Zoom account and uploaded a picture of yourself for when your camera is off) although we encourage you to keep your camera on as it helps people engage with you.

We would also like to ask you to ensure that your audio is muted throughout the call to avoid distracting background noises during the presentations. Only unmute when you would like to ask questions or join in a conversation.

We also plan to live stream the meetup on Youtube (if it works!).
