We are an ** awesome ** four year running Book Club in the Sutherland Shire. Meeting once a month at Gymea Trade Union Club @ 9am on a Sunday morning, invites are generally co-ordinated via FB, although all meetings will be announced on MeetUp as well.

Our format is that one person chooses our selected book & the group reads the same title, whereby we discuss the book the following month. We read a variety of genres and different international authors - we tend to run in themes but this is not planned and we run with the flow :-)

As part of our group, we also have a charity element where we donate to a group/organisation that is relevant to the book or to the person who chose the book that month. The donation is $10.

We also do fun things like attend Mudgee Reader's Festival, Christmas lunch & Kris Kringle, Book Club birthday lunches & so forth. Being a diversified group, we have a range of personalities, opinions, tastes in books, life values & experiences.

Our group is more than just books - it is a rewarding & rich experience of women sharing knowledge, insight & experiences - certainly not your "standard" book club. We meet in a public venue so you can order a coffee & some breakky if you wish, and have a consistent meeting place where we are well known 😀

** We will never inconvenience you or expect a Book Club to be run out of your home **

As per all groups, we do operate by some standard house-keeping rules that we listen, respect & create a safe space for our members & enable you to also be heard and listened to as well ! Whilst the flow of the conversation is organic & open, we do maintain that listening is of upmost importance - nothing unreasonable ! 😀

Currently a group of 14, I am now closing off new memberships to keep the group small. Typically, we look for members who are mature, have a sense of humour, demonstrate emotional intelligence, show courtesy to others and of course love reading books. It is expected that you attend Book Club regularly to retain the flow & connection between the group and also gives you opportunity to get to know the other members. We understand if you can't come but are always happy to see you when you can ! 🌼🌼🌼

We have a lot of laughs, stimulating conversation & debate. Sometimes we go off topic, and on occasion, we talk more about life issues than books - however, it does link in & is always beneficial. If you feel like this is for you, and something that you've been looking for, feel free to contact me directly.

Happy Reading 🐝💐🎉🌺🌟⭐️
