What we’re about
The principles within Stoicism are, perhaps, the most relevant and practical sets of rules for a good life. The Stoics focus on two things: 1. How can we lead a fulfilling, happy life? 2. How can we become better human beings? The philosophy asserts that virtue (such as wisdom) is happiness, and judgment be based on behaviour, rather than words. That we don’t control and cannot rely on external events, only ourselves and our responses.
This is a group for people who are interested in applying stoic principles to their lives or would like to find out more about Stoicism. 2018 is a great year to join as we’ll be going through Seneca’s – Letters From A Stoic. Don’t worry if you haven’t read anything on Stoicism previously, our meetups are relaxed group conversations where you can say as much or as little as you like. If you’d like some further book recommendations please let us know at Facebook https://www.facebook.com/groups/brisbanestoics/ or you can visit us at www.brisbanestoics.com
Hopefully we'll see you soon!
