What we're about
Cinematic Photo Club meets once a month for multiple model photography shoots and once a week for solo shoots at night.
Almost every week we try new techniques like talcum powder smoke and props like the model holding a lantern while pointing led lights for fill.
Using talent website, 'starnow', the event Organizer books a model. On shoot day, we start with costume & fashion design for the model, followed by makeup (if available), then setup lighting and cameras and then 1st shoot: Directing the model. Then relocate for second shoot in which the model has more control in expressing their personality, facial expressions, poses and any other talent they may have (martial arts, contortion, dance etc). 2nd shoot we also experiment more with lighting, filters and stylized lenses.
At the end of the shoot we vote on the next shoot's theme, location and type of model/talent. After editing, photos are shared on Meetup or you can use for your own portfolio or social media.
All experience levels welcome: Beginner to Advanced.
As this is a not-for-profit club, each session costs only $10 per person for group models shoots and $5 for solo model shoots.
BYO camera. Usage of photographs is up to you (if you've taken the photo). If the photo is to be sold, permission is required from the group so that we are aware of any new usage requirements.
Each attendee should share 1 to 5 photographs per shoot (depending on number of models in the shoot) on the meetup page. This way the organiser can easily share the photographs with each model.
The idea of Cinematic Photo Club is to help each other, share tips, enhance our own skills and portfolios and to support new models and actors in their new careers.
I look forward to meeting you on the next shoot!
