Recently described as having "the momentum of a runaway freight train", DesignOps – the most dangerous design meetup in Melbourne – is back, this time to red pill you on the game-changing design tool, "Figma", on Wednesday the 4th of July.

To celebrate Independence Day, we'll be paying homage to the 1996 major motion picture of the same name, with special guest stars Will Smith and Jeff Goldblum.

Perhaps it's fate that our meetup is on the 4th of July, as we'll once again be fighting for our freedom – not from tyranny, oppression, or persecution – but from siloed workflows with no collaboration, awful development handovers and thousands of "final2-FINAL.psd" files with no single source of truth.

If the term "breakpoint" is now more relevant to your own mental inclination of jumping out the window in your office, rather than anything to do with design – this is for you.

Bring your laptop and buckle your seatbelt, Dorothy – because Kansas is going "bye bye".

California Love,
Adam & Ch'an

Speakers:

The Biggie and Tupac of design — Marty Coghlan and Scott Moselen, Senior Digital Designers at MASS (http://studiomass.com.au) will be presenting:

"Figmatic — Why Figma will be remembered as a genre-defining classic".

Inspired by the 1994 game-changing hip hop album "Illmatic" by Nas, they'll be talking about switching from Sketch to Figma (the game-changing design tool) in their studio last year, and doing a deep dive on their experiences with it.

Bring your laptop along to be part of a live design collaboration demo using Figma.

Shout outs to our wonderful sponsors:

Culture Amp (https://www.cultureamp.com) for allowing us to host our meetup in their very cool space.

Tundra (https://tundra.com.au) for taking care of providing all of the delicious food from Wonderbao (https://www.wonderbao.co/) before the talks begin.

Wappalyzer (https://www.wappalyzer.com) for sponsoring our celebrity guests for the evening, Will Smith and Jeff Goldblum.
