EUXSyd 2021 - May Meetup

We are back with our first full in person event in over a year. For our May meetup we are pleased to announce Jessa Jakovljevic, who is the design lead at 86400, will be our speaker. Jessa will be talking about "How Design can redefine banking in modern Australia."

Trust in Australia's banking industry has been slowly eroding over the last few decades, and then came the Hayne Royal Commission into misconduct in the Banking and Financial Services. Banks have scrambled to rebuild trust and restore credibility, but the damage was done.

As a start-up entering the finance and banking industry, 86 400 faced considerable challenges in building trust from scratch and differentiating themselves from key competitors. We needed to redefine what it means to be a bank in Australia to have any chance of market penetration. But how do you redefine banking, an industry that’s known for being untrustworthy?

We are back to full capacity so this will be primarily an in-person meetup. We will also be recoding the session and sharing this on our you tube channel post the meetup. We will be having a few drinks, some really good pizzas and networking before the talk so arrive at 6 before all the pizzas are gone.
