Are you a fan of classic films like The Godfather, Gone with the Wind, Star Wars, Citizen Kane, and Casablanca? Would you like to discuss them with other film fanatics? Then this is the group for you!
We meet monthly to discuss one of the top 100 films of all time (based on the "Top 100 Movies of All Time" list at davesmoviedatabase.com). Please note: We do not watch the movies together. Participants watch the movies on their own.
Also: there is a waiting list for the group so members are not automatically approved. However, that also means that I regularly purge inactive members (generally those who haven't attended for five months or more) to make room for new people.

Discussion: 2001: A Space Odyssey
Merriam Plaza Library, 6120 Slater Street, Merriam, KS, USWe will be discussing 2001: A Space Odyssey (#7 on our top 100 movie list). Filmsite.org called this 1968 movie directed by Stanley Kubrick a "metaphoric, thought-provoking, grandiose, science-fiction landmark film." Of note is Hal 9000, the super computer who Movieline says "has personal problems that make him a more engaging character than any of the humans in this or most other movies of the last few decades."
