​About Ken Mogi:

Ken Mogi is a Tokyo-based neuroscientist, writer, and broadcaster. He is a senior researcher at Sony Computer Science Laboratories and holds academic roles at the University of Tokyo, where he co-leads the Collective Intelligence Research Laboratory focused on collective intelligence and AI alignment. In addition, he serves as headmaster of Yakushima Ohzora High School. Mogi holds degrees in Physics and Law, including a PhD from the University of Tokyo, and has conducted postdoctoral research at the University of Cambridge. He is a prolific author with over 300 published works across genres, many of which have become bestsellers, and he was the first Japanese speaker to present on the TED main stage in 2012.
​Beyond academia, Mogi is a well-known media figure, having hosted numerous TV and radio programs on NHK and Discovery Channel Japan, and appearing internationally on shows such as Closer to Truth and a Bloomberg documentary hosted by Hannah Fry. His research centers on consciousness, particularly qualia and free will, and he has gained global recognition through his books on ikigai, which have been published worldwide and achieved major commercial success. His recent English-language works include The Way of Nagomi and Think Like a Stoic, further expanding his international reach.
