What we’re about
LinkedIn Local is a global community. The mission “to meet the individual behind the profile.” LinkedIn Local is a networking event that focuses on creating genuine local connections. We come together, because of our shared interest in using LinkedIn to foster and manage professional relationships. The hosts, organisers and presenters are all volunteers and are not directly associated with LinkedIn, Microsoft or any of its affiliates.
LinkedIn Local was started by Anna MacAfee. Anna founded Linkedin Local in Coffs Harbour, NSW. Today, LinkedIn Local, now officially part of LinkedIn’s community outreach program, is in over 360 cities, with over 600 hosts and over 1000 events worldwide.
The LinkedIn Local Sunshine Coast group sets out to do three things with each event:
1. Provide real value to our local business community. We strive for every guest to walk away feeling they learned something new and excited to try it out the next day.
2. Share helpful tips to curate and manage your connections with LinkedIn.
3. Provide casual and structured networking opportunities, so you get a chance to meet more people, more effectively. Encouraging catch ups and 1on1s after the event.
If you would like to learn more or join the conversation, please follow our group pages on Facebook and LinkedIn.

LinkedIn Local Sunshine Coast November 2025
Buderim Tavern, 81 Burnett St, Buderim, QL, AULinkedIn Local is a relaxed, no-pitches networking event where local professionals meet the people behind the profiles. Expect a friendly room, a light structure to help you make quality introductions, and practical takeaways you can apply the next day. On the Sunshine Coast, we blend short, high-value learning with genuine conversation so you leave with new contacts, new ideas, and next steps.
### About the workshop
Tired of shouting into the digital void? Join a room full of Sunshine Coast business owners and professionals for an evening of genuine connection and practical learning. Luke Hawley and Steve Plummer will share the Win Where It’s Quiet (WWIQ) Framework — a human-to-human approach that cuts through noise, earns trust, and creates conversations where competitors aren’t even looking.
You’ll walk away with a simple playbook to spark the Zero Moment of Truth (get the meeting), convert the First Moment of Truth (win the sale), and set up the Second Moment of Truth (repeat business) — using orchestrated touchpoints that feel personal, relevant, and memorable.
### What you’ll learn
- Message–Market–Match: speak to real business tension (not just a clever slogan).
- WWIQ cadence: blend inbox, mailbox and in-person touchpoints to open doors.
- Trust multipliers: small “surprise & delight” moments that disarm resistance.
- Quiet growth pipeline: identify and engage your Dream 100 with intent.
- LIVE DEMO: LinkedIn & Sales Navigator—how to research accounts, map buying groups, spot triggers, and personalise outreach fast.
- Repeatability: measure, iterate and scale what works.
