Inviting all makers, crafters & artists.
Share just a little of that crafting calm…

Whether you're a knitter, patchworker, sculptor, woodworker, painter or just a crafter, come and share your story.
Join this weekly meetup in our down-beat and relaxed craft cafe, that is Maker's Loft.
Feel free to drop in any Friday anywhere from 10:30 am to 1:00 pm.

Crafting has been proven to ease stress, increase happiness and protect the brain from the types of damage caused by the aging process. Knitters have known for centuries that their activity brings them a deep sense of satisfaction, but research shows that the act of creating something actually increases happiness on a neurological level, by releasing dopamine, the neurotransmitter released by the brain’s pleasure centre.
I'm sure there are people out theres thinking "Ow, I'm not creative or I'm not a crafter" but its not about whether it's good or bad, or art or not. We hope to encourage people to explore, play and understand that everyone is inherently creative.
“Crafting” is a term referring to all sorts of handiwork—knitting, woodworking, even cake decorating. According to a recent CNN report, crafting is more than just a hobby; it can help those who suffer from anxiety, depression or chronic pain. In other words, you might want to consider crafting your way to better mental health.
