What we're about

Meditation practices are a part of the rhythms The Virtual Third Space

At one time our focus was only in Docklands, Melbourne but now with our hub being online we can open our “doors” to the world!
Our rhythms and gatherings all flow out of a philosophy of shalom.

“We really love being creative, spending time together, slowing down a bit and learning to just “be”.
We are a beautifully diverse community, including many who are Christ-followers and others with different or no particular spiritual practices.

Jesus, once given the title Prince of Peace, said He would give us His shalom (Hebrew word for peace) – a holistic expression incorporating peace in our bodies, souls, mind and spirit. When we experience shalom, we experience restored relationships, including with each other, the creation and the Divine. Our community welcomes all who visit just once and embrace all who choose to stay and belong.

”Allison: The Third Space Community Facilitator

Monastic Meditation Online

Online event

Join The Third Space Online Community for our Monastic Meditation practice. The Zoom meeting will be open from 12pm and will start at 12:10pm. If you don't have the Zoom application yet, the Meeting link will direct you to install it first. https://zoom.us/j/8447377223 Monastic Meditation aims to achieve “shalom” peace which is the Hebrew word for holistic peace - of mind, body, soul, and spirit through incorporating mindfulness, silence, the Lectio Divina (Divine Word) and through engaging in “talking circle” – an opportunity to voluntarily share personal reflections that come as a result of the meditation. Our mindful meditation practice consists primarily of deep breathing, relaxation and mindfulness. The Lectio Divina is a monastic practice from the 4th century which uses the ancient Hebrew and Greek texts as its basis and "talking circle" is drawn from the Judeo-Christian tradition of communing. This last element is unique in meditation practice as most practices are individual in nature and it is our experience that the reflections of others can significantly add value to our own time of meditation. You are welcome to invite friends and colleagues by sending the Zoom link Alternatively you can arrange a private group meditation at another time. Attendance is by a "pay as you feel" via our website https://thethirdspace.org.au
