What we’re about
Meetup group for researchers, students, and hobbyists in machine learning, neural networks, and statistics.
Meetups can range between beginner tutorials (e.g. getting started with Keras), "journal club" style presentations of cool papers, and talks by visiting researchers.
The Miami Machine Learning Meetup also serves as the Miami chapter of PyData. PyData is an educational program of NumFOCUS, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization in the United States. PyData provides a forum for the international community of users and developers of data analysis tools to share ideas and learn from each other. The global PyData network promotes discussion of best practices, new approaches, and emerging technologies for data management, processing, analytics, and visualization. PyData communities approach data science using many languages, including (but not limited to) Python, Julia, and R.
The Miami Machine Learning Meetup is governed by the PyData Code of Conduct (http://pydata.org/code-of-conduct.html) To discuss any issues or concerns relating to the code of conduct or the behavior of anyone at a PyData meetup, please contact NumFOCUS Executive Director Leah Silen (+1 512-222-5449; leah@numfocus.org) or the group organizer.

See all- Streamlit: Making AI Apps and showcasing Data Analytics on the Web in Minutes2103 Coral Wy 2nd floor, Miami FL, Miami, FL
🌴 PyData Miami is hosting its first event of 2025! Join us for an in-person session demonstrating how to build data-driven applications in minutes. Damian Montero shares common problems faced in data science and engineering, and how Streamlit provides an elegant solution.
Streamlit enables data scientists and ML engineers to create interactive web applications directly from Python scripts, eliminating the need for frontend development skills. This hands-on session covers how to convert data analyses and models into shareable web interfaces. We'll begin with some examples to understand Streamlit's capabilities, then participants will build a dashboard using the 2025 State of Engineering Management Report dataset. The live coding portion covers core components (layouts, widgets, data visualization), state management, and GitHub deployment. We'll also implement LLM and RAG features using provided code examples. Attendees will receive a complete GitHub repository with all demonstrated code, including the AI implementations.
The session is suitable for ML engineers, data scientists, and students with basic Python knowledge who need to create interactive interfaces for their work. No web development experience is required. The session concludes with Q&A focused on specific use cases and implementation challenges.
